Dryers

Dryers are essential equipment in pellet and briquette production. Before the raw material enters the granulator, it must be properly dried to ensure a smooth granulation process and a high-quality final product.

Modern drum and belt dryers

Modern dryers come equipped with numerous additional features that make them easier to use and seamlessly integrate into pellet and briquette production lines. One of the most appreciated functions is automatic control, which allows precise adjustment of the desired moisture level.

Fire-protection systems also play a major role, ensuring maximum operational safety. In pellet and briquette lines, the most commonly used dryers are drum dryers and belt dryers. Drum dryers use hot air as the drying medium, while belt dryers use hot water, hot air or a heating fluid. All these systems stand out for their high efficiency and precise temperature and humidity control.

Well-designed, high-performance sawdust dryers are crucial for the energy efficiency of the production process. Modern technologies allow heat recovery from other production stages and the use of renewable energy sources such as biomass. As a result, the energy required for drying is significantly lower — reducing production costs and improving the ecological profile of the entire operation.

Thanks to the variety of dryer types available in our offer, we can select the ideal machine for your facility, tailored to the raw material and the specific operating conditions.

Industrial dryers

Belt dryers

The belt dryers from the BT series by STELA Laxhuber GmbH and the ATSS series by AMS Elektronik — equipped with our proprietary control system — are designed for drying shredded biomass, such as sawdust, micro-chips, straw and more. They operate with lower drying-medium temperatures than drum dryers.

The drying medium may be:
– hot water up to 90°C,
– a glycol-based heating fluid up to 120°C,
– hot air (not exceeding 100°C).

The maximum temperature is limited by the physical and chemical properties of the belt material. Belt dryers from the BT and ATSS series can achieve capacities from 2 to 15 t/h.

Key advantages of belt dryers:
  • LTD – low temperature drying
Low drying-medium temperature minimizes the risk of material ignition.

  • BCS – belt control system
Automatic six-roller belt-tracking and positioning system.

  • DCS – double cleaning system
Dual high-pressure automatic cleaning system using water and air.

  • LAS – layer alignment system
Automatic system for leveling the material layer with adjustable thickness control.

  • HCS – humidity control system
Automatic moisture-control system for precise drying.

  • ASDS – automatic self-diagnosis system
Automatic diagnostic system with alerts for detected faults and errors.

CSB drum dryers

Our CSB-series drum dryers, with capacities from 2 to 15 t/h, are designed for drying shredded biomass such as sawdust, micro-chips and straw. All CSB models are compatible with heat generators operating on either wet biomass (up to 55% moisture) or dry biomass (up to 20% moisture).

These dryers were designed with maximum operational safety in mind, including reduced drying-medium temperatures, automated shut-off dampers and advanced fire-protection and flue-gas cleaning systems. CSB drum dryers offer robust construction, smooth operation and high efficiency.

Key advantages of our drum dryers:
  • LTD – low temperature drying
A special drum design allows drying with a higher volume of lower-temperature air (approx. 350°C), which distinguishes our dryers from other models on the market.

  • OPS – one pass system
Single-pass material-flow system prevents overdrying of the raw material.

  • GCS – gas cleaning system
Cleans the drying gases, preventing sparks and soot from entering the material.

  • FPS – fire protection system
The Firefly automatic fire-protection system monitors temperatures and feed supply, detects sparks at the drum outlet and extinguishes any ignition before it spreads.

  • SOV – shut-off valve
Automatically closes the flow of hot drying medium into the drum.

  • HCS – humidity control system
Automatic system ensuring precise moisture control.

  • ASDS – automatic self-diagnosis system
Self-diagnosis functionality with alerts for detected malfunctions and errors.
