LiPRO CFD moving floor dryer – continuous wood chip dryer
Efficient utilization of waste heat – the ideal complement to the LiPRO HKW300 system for maximum profitability.
Process efficiency – intelligent heat management and biomass drying
The design of the LiPRO CFD dryer is based on the principle of maximum utilization of available energy. Unlike traditional systems, our solution allows for precise control of the final moisture content of the material with minimal energy input. Biomass dried in this way gains consistent parameters, making it ideally suited for further use in gasification processes or for sale as a high-quality premium fuel.
CFD drying system: compact, intelligent, dry
Industrial dryers
What characterizes the LiPRO CFD moving floor dryer?
The drying system features a compact, containerized design and includes a function for screening fine fractions and dust directly on the moving floor. The device has been designed for drying wood chips and similar materials.
The dryer is designed for continuous operation, and its control is fully automatic. The heat supply is regulated based on the temperature difference between the upper and lower layers of the dried material, which is precisely measured by thermal sensors.
An integrated sieve section in the additional feeding system allows for the separation of overly fine and overly coarse fractions (undersize and oversize). This facilitates the use of cheaper (lower quality) fuels in LiPRO CHP plants.
Importantly from a design perspective, the dryer is ideally suited for outdoor installation in the immediate vicinity of the CHP plant or as a standalone installation for other drying purposes.
Main advantages of our moving floor dryer:

LiPRO moving floor dryer CFD - Frequently asked questions
Can the LiPRO CFD dryer operate as an independent unit, without the HKW300 CHP plant?
Yes. Although the CFD dryer was designed as an ideal complement to the LiPRO cogeneration system, it can be configured in a “Standalone” variant (with its own independent controller). In this setup, it works perfectly as a standalone unit, for example, for providing biomass drying services to third parties or as a component of an existing line from another brand.
Does outdoor installation require an additional roof?
There is no need for that. The LiPRO dryer has a containerized, sealed design. Furthermore, its moving floor and key components are hot-dip galvanized (and powder-coated) as standard, which ensures the highest corrosion resistance. The device is 100% adapted for year-round outdoor operation, which saves valuable space inside your production halls.
Do the dryer fans meet environmental noise standards?
Yes. To meet stringent environmental requirements in industrial plants, the system utilizes advanced EC fans with stepless speed control, which significantly reduces noise emissions. Additionally, we offer the option to equip the system with a dedicated noise silencer at the air inlet, making it easier to obtain environmental permits for installation near buildings.
What does the routine maintenance and cleaning of the dryer look like?
Thanks to the integrated screening function directly on the moving floor, the very fine fraction and dust are continuously separated, which prevents the channels from clogging. The material flow process (as well as emergency cooling) is fully automated. The operator’s role is reduced solely to monitoring parameters on the E-Control control panel, which drastically reduces labor costs.
What kind of biomass can this device handle?
The dryer is adapted for log wood chips and topwood chips (both softwood and hardwood). The optimized movement of the floor (designed using the Finite Element Method – FEM) easily handles raw material straight from the forest, precisely reducing its moisture content to the desired approx. 10%, which is an ideal parameter for further pelletizing.
